The hardest part in attending a church for the first time is ATTENDING FOR THE FIRST TIME!!
All questions generally relate to expectations. As to our believes, we believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God, as Lord and as Savior. Our book of doctrine, or list of beliefs, is simply the Word of God. Thus as one man has expressed it, "We have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, no name but the name Christian." That should help with some questions but below are some general questions related to a Sunday service.
Q. What can I wear during a typical service?
Our focus is not what you have on but more on how you treat others. Blue jeans with a shirt is common. The church understands not everyone owns a 3 piece suit or an evening gown, plus we don't expect you to. Now if you see the minister wearing a 3 piece suit, the only thing you will ask yourself "who's getting married or who's funeral?' Come as you are.
Q. Do you take communion every Sunday?
As a believer, taking the Lord's supper is important when the church gathers. The church is to remember what God did for her on Calvary. By taking the juice and bread, the church is reminded of the first gathering of the church found in the book of Acts. The church holds this belief as should the believer partaking.
Q. As a visitor, will I have to stand and be acknowledged?
The church does not make a visitor stand up or be acknowledged. Our plan is to grow the church closer to Christ. Same goes for a baby, we don't expect it to stand the moment it enters this world. So the church wants to come back and not make you stick out like a sore thumb. Before you leave just make sure you leave a social security card, credit card and blood sample :)
Q. What kind of programs do you offer the kids?
Sunday School begins at 9:45am the kids are studying the bible through #thegospelproject. During Sunday Worship the kids enjoy JAM (Children's Church 'Jesus And Me') with Ms. Alisha as they study, play games and do crafts together.
Sunday's the kids come to the stage an sing at 9:45am & 10:45.
Wednesday's the kids eat at 6:30pm-7:00pm and then worship together. Following worship they do crafts, play games and study God's word.
